The Karavanke is a mountain range in the Southern Alps, making a natural border between Slovenia and Austria’s southernmost federal state of Carinthia. Its steep slopes and unique limestone peaks are an insider tip for all outdoor enthusiasts. Here you can find easily accessible hiking trails for walkers, and also many climbing areas for experienced mountaineers. Moreover, this outdoor experience is now enhanced by bouldering facilities, indoor climbing walls, climbing areas, and a sport park extending over an entire mountain.
In the Karavanke Mountains, one can enjoy the unspoiled nature of the landscape. There is a green, soft, and friendly southern side, while the northern side is challenging, steep, and rocky. Most of the peaks from this side are accessible only via climbing routes. Whether you are climbing, hiking, or cycling, a child or a grandpa – active holidaymakers can experience a unique and intact landscape far from tourist resorts. In addition, there are both Carinthian and Slovene culinary delights, relaxing wellness programmes, attractions for children, and many cultural sights to visit.
